Team Profile

Now in our 40th season, we are founding members of the River City Swim League, a summer recreational swim league in Northeast Florida. Our membership is open to anyone between the ages of four and eighteen with an interest in participating in competitive swimming. Our primary focus is on introducing the novice swimmer to the sport and in developing the fundamental skills necessary to compete, all in a fun atmosphere.

Our team has been coached by Rebecca Deary since the summer of 1977, making her the most experienced coach in the league. Under her leadership, we consistently finish near the top of the standings at the Championships; however, her primary aim for the season is to focus on individual improvement obtained in a fun environment.

In 2009, the River City Swim League added two new teams, bringing the League to twenty teams. It sponsors both a dual meet season and a season ending Championship meet. The dual meets begin in late May and run to mid-July with the Championships usually held over one of the last weekends in July.
