Team Membership Closed
Based on our attendance at practices and the online registrations, it appears we have 173
swimmers planning to swim with us this summer. As the facility and coaching staff cannot
support a team of more than this,
we have closed team
membership for 2012 and shut down the online registration system at this time.
We will be looking at how our practice groups "break down" this coming week and may decide
to re-open specific age groups if there is a practice group that could still accept new
swimmers.
If you haven't registered, yet, you may sign up for a waiting list in the online registration system for any spots that open; however, we cannot guarantee anyone a spot at this point.
If you are registered for 2012, you may still order your team suits, t-shirts and racing caps and volunteer to work at meets ONLINE or at any practice at any time up through the end of June.
We'll also continue to update our Facebook page throughout the year.
Team Profile
Now in our 42nd season, we are founding members of the River City Swim League, a summer recreational swim league in Northeast Florida. Our membership is open to anyone between the ages of four and eighteen with an interest in participating in competitive swimming. Our primary focus is on introducing the novice swimmer to the sport and in developing the fundamental skills necessary to compete, all in a fun atmosphere.
Our team has been coached by Rebecca Deary since the summer of 1977, making her the most experienced coach in the league. Under her leadership, we consistently finish near the top of the standings at the Championships; however, her primary aim for the season is to focus on individual improvement obtained in a fun environment.
The River City Swim League currently has nineteen member teams. The League sponsors both a dual meet season and a season ending Championship meet. The dual meets begin in late May and run to mid-July with the Championships usually held over one of the last weekends in July.

First Dual Meet in 9 Days!
Our first dual meet is one week from Tuesday with our traditional first opponent, the Makos from the Jewish Community Alliance.
We have the information for this meet posted on the web site with two links to get there - from our 2012 Dual Meet Information page or our 2012 Swim Meet Schedule page.
As for all our dual meets, we need our parents to volunteer for the various jobs necessary to run the meet. With this being the first dual meet for our new families, we hope that many of our returning parents will volunteer for this meet so our new folks can get acclimated to the whole process.
Team T-Shirt Slogan Poll on Facebook Closes Tonight
We have a "poll" posted on our Facebook page right now to choose our T-shirt slogan for 2012 - the race is actually quite close. We'll be shutting down the poll on Sunday, May 20th at midnight and ordering our shirts this week so please click the Facebook logo above to go to our page and cast your vote today!
Registration Status Page Now Active
Each year we must register our swimmers with the River City Swim League. In order to do so, we must have a completed registration form , proof of the swimmer's birth date and payment of the registration fee.
Our online registration system generates the registration form or you can download and fill one out from the web site. We also save copies of the birth certificates from the prior season so returning swimmers do not have to submit a copy each season.
We have a page on the web site that we use to track who is registered with the League, who is ready to register and who is still lacking something. We update this page at least weekly. You can check your swimmer's current status by clicking here.
Order Your Team Suits Soon
We've placed our initial order for our team suits for this year on Monday, May 5th and will be placing a second order on Monday, May 19th. We are hoping to have the first order in time for our first dual meet on 5/29 (no guarantee but we'll try!). So, if you need a team suit and haven't ordered one yet, now is the time to do so.
If you know the size you need, you can order using our online system or with a paper form at practice - use the link at the bottom of this item to get to the links for these items.
If you're not sure of what size to order, we have a sizing chart on the web site or you can try on one of our "fitting kit" suits at any Tuesday or Thursday practice.
We're also going to order Team T-Thirts this Friday - make sure you get one by placing your order by the end of Thursday night's practice. We will be ordering extras but can't guarantee we'll have your size unless we have your order in this week.
Team Racing Caps will be ordered on May 23rd. If you would like one with your swimmer's name on it, you need to place your order by the end of practice on Tuesday, May 22nd.
