Team Profile
Now planning our 42nd season for the summer of 2012, we are founding members of the River City Swim League, a summer recreational swim league in Northeast Florida. Our membership is open to anyone between the ages of four and eighteen with an interest in participating in competitive swimming. Our primary focus is on introducing the novice swimmer to the sport and in developing the fundamental skills necessary to compete, all in a fun atmosphere.
Our team has been coached by Rebecca Deary since the summer of 1977, making her the most experienced coach in the league. Under her leadership, we consistently finish near the top of the standings at the Championships; however, her primary aim for the season is to focus on individual improvement obtained in a fun environment.
The River City Swim League currently has nineteen member teams. The League sponsors both a dual meet season and a season ending Championship meet. The dual meets begin in late May and run to mid-July with the Championships usually held over one of the last weekends in July.

Holiday Season is Here!
While we should be thankful for our many blessings every day, November is a time to focus on those blessings. Last week, we honored and thanked our military for their service to our country. Next week is Thanksgiving, a tradition in our country since 1621, when we gather in fellowship with friends and family to eat, watch parades and football and give thanks.
We want to take a moment to thank all of you that have contributed to our 41 year history - swimmers and coaches, past and present, and their families. We are also thankful to our Maker for the many blessings we all have received and wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and a Joyous Christmas season!
League Sets Dates for
2012 RCSL Championships
The League held its final meeting for the 2011 season in late August. In addition to electing officers for 2012 and reviewing the 2011 season, they also set the date for the 2012 Championship meets; the League has reserved the same (last) weekend in July, the 26th - 29th, for next summer with Cecil Field. This date has been confirmed by the folks at Cecil so please mark your calendars now and plan accordingly.
Dual meets will most likely start the week of Memorial Day as in 2011 and most of the key dates (registration deadline, Championship meet entry deadline, etc.) should remain relatively the same as this past summer.

Pick Up Your 2011 Awards
For those of you unable to attend the Awards Ceremony, we have your awards and want to get them to you.
Coach Becky teaches pre-school at Deermeadows Pre-school on Baymeadows Road (just east of the Old Baymeadows & Baymeadows Road intersection). She is there Monday through Friday until about 1:30 p.m. and is willing to bring your awards there if you give her prior notice.

Awards Ceremony Summary Now Available
Coach Becky and her group of parents created a great Season-ending Awards Ceremony! The ceremony was held on TUESDAY, AUGUST 2nd, in the sanctuary of Deermeadows Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. followed by dessert in the Courtyard.
