A Parent's Guide to Surviving the Summer Swim Season
2011 Membership Information
Please note that the information in this section of our web site is in the process of being updated for 2011. As pages are completed, they will be posted to the web site with the 2011 information and an "updated" graphic in the top corner of the page; the remaining pages still reflect the 2010 information but we do not want to take them down as they will give you a general idea of how things will work in 2011.
Competitive
swimming is one of the most unique and challenging sports in the world. In addition to being one
of the most complete forms of exercise, it is also a great deal of fun. It contributes greatly in
the development of a well-rounded young adult by teaching many important attributes such as
sportsmanship, cooperation, dedication, goal orientation, discipline, team spirit, pride, humility
and many more.
Swimming is one of the very few sports that allows an individual to compete for himself and his team. It is a highly technical, difficult to master sport involving complex strategies yet can be both enjoyable and relaxing as well.
Swimming is a FAMILY sport. It requires sacrifices of time and effort of everyone in
the family. Parents must be willing to VOLUNTEER their time to help with team activities, make
arrangements for your swimmers to get to and from practices and meets, pay the various expenses and
SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE your swimmer's efforts. Swimmers must be willing to SACRIFICE
their time for practices and meets, work hard in practice to develop their skills and improve their
conditioning and cooperate with your teammates to achieve both your own and the team's goals.
We hope that you will find your experience on our team both enjoyable and rewarding.

Electronic Registration
Last season, we enhanced our Web Site to allow you to register your swimmers with us and pay ONLINE. The system worked so well that we will be using it again this year.
Because the electronic registration will "feed" directly into our team database, we are
asking that all our families register electronically online. Just click on the link below to complete
your registration. While you do not have to pay online to register, you can pay by credit card or with
an electronic check in the online system.
If you use the online system, you will not have to fill out a paper team registration form or RCSL
registration form.
This means, if you are a returning swimmer on our team, you will not have to do or turn in any paper work to register with the team.
In addition, once your family establishes your account, you will be able to use the web for payment of other fees such as for caps, t-shirts and the awards banquet and sign up for jobs at meets plus any other items we can use this new capability for. Of course, you can still pay your fees at any practice your child attends.

Membership Downloads
Much of of the information contained in this section, including the RCSL Registration Forms, can be
downloaded from the site (requires Adobe Reader). While we would prefer you register your swimmers
using the online system, you may print out the paper forms, complete them and bring them to your first
practice to save some time if you are unable to use the online system. You will need to download either
the Complete New Member Information Package or the Complete Returning Member Information Package (fewer
pages), which include all the information you will need, and a RCSL Registration Form (one form per
swimmer). Additional registration forms may also be downloaded individually.

Click the "Registration Download" link in the "Membership Information Links" at the top of this page go to the Current Season's Registration Materials Download Page.
