A Parent's Guide to Surviving the Summer Swim Season
River City Swim League Information
The Blue Dolphins belong to the River City Swim League (RCSL) or "Country Club" league. The League is composed of nineteen teams this year from throughout Northeast Florida. The RCSL philosophy is:
"The River City Swim League was developed to provide the children of League Clubs with a social and competitive summer swimming program.
The mission of the League is:
A. to afford youth an opportunity to develop water safety and individual swimming skills;
B. to provide participants the opportunity to improve physical fitness and learn social skills while instilling the values of sportsmanship and team commitment that will aid in their future endeavors;
C. to develop interest and participation in amateur swimming in a safe and fun environment and
D. to promote excellence in coaching and conditioning for all swimmers.
As a result, it is hoped that participants will acquire many of the necessary tools for a lifelong conditioning program to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
To these ends, the League will administer the dual/tri-meet schedule and the River City Swim League Championship Meet(s), as well as provide a scholarship program to help our most deserving participants carry skills learned in this league on into college.”
RCSL Registration
We must register all of our swimmers with the League each season before they can compete in any
League meets. This involves completing a League registration form which the team submits along
with a per swimmer registration fee.
The League also requires every swimmer to submit a form of proof of their birth date (birth or baptismal certificate, copy of driver’s license, letter from the child’s school indicating birth date, etc.) even if they swam with us in prior seasons.
We have set up our Online Registration system to collect the needed information and print out a League Registration form or, if you prefer, you may complete a paper RCSL Registration Form for each of your swimmers - further details can be found on the "Registration Downloads" page.
